FREE SKILLS ANALYSIS LEADS TO BUSINESS COACH
Eighty delegates from
small to medium sized businesses in Calderdale,
attended
the launch of a new and
innovative on-line ‘Skills Analysis’ for
business managers this week (Tuesday 5 July)
at Calderdale College. The free on-line service
helps
to analyse management skills, recognise training
needs and can lead to subsidised one-to-to business
coaching from an expert. The new skills analysis
is part of the ‘Leading
Light’ project, funded by the European Regional
Development Fund and Action Halifax and sponsored
by Nestle Rolo. It taps in to a group of experts
in fields such as strategic leadership, human resources,
marketing or sales for one-to-one coaching and
offers more traditional training and management
qualifications according to need.
The unique programme aims to support eligible
companies in the HX1, HX2 and HX3 areas employing
up to 250 staff, and has been developed by the
Services to Business arm of Calderdale College,
which was recently awarded Customer First (UK)
status. The programme is funded until 2007.
“We can provide free or subsidised coaching,
either through our own funding, or by accessing
other funding opportunities in partnership with
Business Link”, said Jean Hensby, business
development manager at Calderdale College. “Chief
executives and directors, as well as managers and
supervisors, should look at what we have to offer,
which includes sessions with one of our team of
management consultants. This project provides a
unique pathway of development tailored to the needs
of the individual and the business and should not
be missed”.
