STUDENT BALLOON RELEASE BOOSTS TSUNAMI APPEAL
Students from Calderdale College boosted the Tsunami
Appeal fund this week with a mass balloon release
from the campus in Francis Street
“They have been desperate to do something
to help and we thought that this was one way of
showing solidarity and getting lots of people involved
as a student body”, said Sahra Hargreaves,
Millennium Volunteer project worker at Calderdale
College.
Farah Naz, 17, who is studying
Interior Design and Law said, “It is one way that we, the
younger generation, can pay our respects to those
who have lost their lives as well as contribute
to the disaster fund”. Sophie Yasin, 18,
studying Law and Information & Communication
Technology said, “It’s our way of showing
that we care and that our thoughts are with those
who are left to try and rebuild their lives”.
